Who knew?? I absolutely LOVE mayonnaise, but when you’re making the delicious unctuous concoction, you do realise just how much oil goes into a good mayo!

Inspired by this awesome site for baobab recipes, my baonaise uses our O’Bao Baobab Powder, which is harvested in Kibwezi and supports a community women’s group which has limited income sources. We love our baobab powder because it’s Kenyan, healthy and minimally processed. We ate it so quickly we didn’t manage to get a photo!


1/2 cup of water
1 clove garlic
1 tsp raw honey
1 1/2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
2 heaped tbsp baobab powder
1/2 cup canola oil


Blend everything with half the water. Then slowly add more water until you have your desired consistency. Refrigerate until it’s thickened and then use lavishly knowing that it’s super healthy!!
