Foolproof Buttercream
Course: Recipes, TreatThis recipe has served me super well for a long time, it’s perfect for colouring to make a really funky cake!
INGREDIENTS
100g unsalted butter – soft, but not melted. Leave it out at room temp for a couple of hours and it’ll be soft enough.
300g icing sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
75ml whipping cream
Directions
- Beat the butter for 4 minutes. This helps get air into it, and will also make for a smooth consistency at the end.
Once this is done, add in the cream, extract and sugar, and beat slowly at first, to incorporate. - Then speed up the beating and beat for a further 2 minutes.
Now use it, or add colouring for an array of colours!
