We were so proud this month to be listed on The British Chamber of Commerce Business Integrity Index (BII). The BII recognises Kenyan businesses that are committed to integrity and have a track record of working ethically with UK organisations and British Chamber of Commerce Kenya (BCCK) members. The Index features nominated and vetted companies who embrace the BCCK integrity principles.
As a company, we have always been highly committed to showing that businesses for good can not only exist but can thrive within a capitalist structure. We are a for-profit example of how putting ethical decisions first does not mean compromising on profitability.
- We work with suppliers that have been vetted to ensure the highest levels of social, environmental and ethical commitment, as well as having the highest possible quality ingredients in their products.
- We are committed to ensuring that every product listed on our platform is safe and healthy for both our customers, as well as having a positive impact on the environment.
- Green Spoon has invested in a solar plant to offset reliance on the main grid.
- We have Kenya’s first and only 100% electric delivery van, making up to 50% of our deliveries carbon neutral.
- We have worked with many of our suppliers to cut down on packaging and plastic.
- We take return bottles and packaging (where possible) to be reused or recycled.
