Marinade Man is here to rescue mundane meals, spice up your life and make the everyday easier!
The historical origins of West Indian cooking can be traced back to the Cormantee hunters of West Africa called the Maroons. During the British invasion of 1655, many of the Maroons were captured, enslaved and brought to Jamaica to work on the Sugar plantations. Some of these slaves escaped from their captors and spent years hiding out in the Blue Mountains of Jamaica, where they practiced the cooking methods of their forefathers.
Like the generations before us, James and his team makes rubs and jerks in small batches with many exotic spices to capture the essence and complexity of true African-style recipes.
After years of hosting friends and family, barbecuing some of the best tasting meat, we’ve decided to share our delicious marinades and rubs with the rest of Kenya. Our blend of rich spices, exotic herbs, and exciting ingredients have been primarily sourced from local farmers supporting the Buy Kenya Build Kenya Initiative.
