When Dhruti came back to Kenya after living abroad, she found that she and her family had become lactose intolerant, especially with local milk. They started looking for non-dairy options such as milk, cheese and yoghurt and found that the brands available in the market were typically imported and had too many unnecessary ingredients and chemicals. Dhruti was not comfortable consuming these ingredients, especially with a young child on the way. So she decided to become more conscious about what they were consuming q at home, and started making her own dairy-free mylk. What started as a kitchen table venture soon evolved into a small business called PodMylk.

When it comes to the ingredients in PodMylk, they are all 100% natural and where possible, sourced locally. These plant based ingredients are high in different nutrients for human consumption especially for those on a full plant-based diet.

Environmentally, plant-based milk has a lower CO2 emission than cow’s milk. In addition to this, PodMylk runs a bottle return program, and avoids using any single-use plastic packaging wherever possible.
