Mlango Farm is an organic vegetable farm located in Ngecha, a small village towards Limuru, about 45 minutes away from Nairobi.
Mlango Farm is a great destination for a refreshing day out of Nairobi for both adults and children. Mlango Farm welcomes groups for a day trip with a guided tour and lunch on our farm. The Mlango Farm Foundation welcomes schools and other groups for visits to the farm, focusing on education about agriculture, healthy living, and care for the environment.
Mlango Farm was started in 2007 by the late Kamande Njenga and his wife, Els Breet. Neglected but fertile family farmland was cleared and planted with fruit trees and vegetables. Over the years, the late Kamande and Els have created a little heaven with over 60 different crops growing on the farm. Mlango Farm, now run by Els and many helping hands, aims for a sustainable way of farming without using chemical pesticides or artificial fertilizers. Mlango Farm delivers its produce to top hotels and restaurants in Nairobi on a daily basis, straight from the farm. Individual households in Nairobi can register for a weekly farmshare basket delivery. At the family home, an art gallery is run by Zanji Art, and sometimes residing artists are working and exhibiting at Mlango Farm.
