Barefoot Bakery is a dedicated gluten-free bakery started with the aim of offering delicious and wholesome gluten-free baked products using locally sourced raw materials. We keep our bakery 100% gluten-free because we want to confidently tell our customers that there is no chance of cross-contamination with wheat products. We go a step further and use our own flour blends and mixes by processing naturally gluten-free grains such as; amaranth, cassava, millet, sorghum, corn, rice, etc. These grains and raw materials are sourced locally and directly from farmers, as well as farmers markets in Kirinyaga and Embu counties. This is to ensure the authenticity of the gluten-free flours we use, as well as value addition to locally grown raw materials. As much as possible, we keep the value chain home-grown to boost the local economy and maximize benefits to Kenyan farmers.
