Ingredients & Other Info
White wines from Châteauneuf-du-Pape are uncommon wines. Their elegance and aromas live up to the reputation of the appellation.
THE VINTAGE
The 2018 vintage is characterised by exceptional weather conditions. Flowering took place in the best possible conditions, with a historically abundant grape output. A few rainy episodes at the end of the spring complicated things a little with an attack of mildew, but the good weather then settled down until harvest, which took place under idyllic conditions. The wines are beautiful.
DESCRIPTION
This extremely rare wine comes from a 2.5 acre vineyard located within the “clos” around the historical pope’s palace. All of the viticulture is carried out by the Beaucastel team.
SITUATION
Sinards White comes from an area that we call the Clos du Château, near the village of Châteauneuf du Pape. The 2.5 hectare vineyard is located right next to the one of Les Sinards Red.
TERROIR
Diluvial alpine deposits with rolled pebbles on clay.
PROCESS
The alcoholic fermentation and the malolactic fermentation were carried out in 600-litre demi-muids, with the lees being stirred once a week for three months.
VARIETALS
Clairette, Grenache blanc, Roussanne
TASTING NOTES
Pretty golden colour with shiny reflections. It is a wine full of refinement and roundness: its nose reveals elegant aromas of almonds, limes and white flesh fruit and its palate has a nice sweetness on notes of citrus and peach. An iodised note with a slight bitterness offers a hint of liveliness which gives structure to this wine.
SERVING
Grapes, Yeast, and Sulfur dioxide/ Sulphites
