Mlango Farm is a farm in Ngecha village, near Limuru. Mlango Farm grows vegetables in a sustainable way, without the use of pesticides, chemicals or synthetic fertilizers.
The farm is a great place for a refreshing day out of Nairobi and is a great destination for day trips, team buildings, and birthday parties. Together with the Mlango Farm Foundation, they also offer educational visits to schools, where children can learn about farm life and where their food comes from.
Mlango Farm is run by Kamande and Els, a Kenyan-Dutch couple who started off with a neglected family land in 2007 and over the years have turned the farm into a little heaven with over 50 different types of crops and fruits.
Mlango Farm delivers fresh produce on a daily basis to top hotels and restaurants in Nairobi, as well as to your doorstep through Greenspoon!
Before they’re picked and packaged to be sold, garlic chives—also known as Chinese chives—typically grow taller than common chives and have flatter leaves and white blossoms. They’re aptly named because of their more potent, garlic-like flavor. Unlike common onion chives, they are not hollow. Use this variety just like common chives to give even more savory flavor to mashed or baked potatoes—or mix them into a fragrant herb salad dressing or dip.
