Founded in 1885 by Don Francisco Undurraga, Undurraga has become one of the most emblematic and important vineyards in Chile. With a great vision of the future, the family settled in Talagante, 34 km from Santiago, in the heart of the Central Valley, where the weather conditions were perfect for the development of the vines that they had brought from France and Germany.
Francisco Undurraga, the founder of this company, began planting the first Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir in the vineyards here, after they were imported from France. The vines of Riesling and Gewurztraminer were imported from Germany. It was around 1883, that he started planning the Undurraga winery. The wood for the oak barrels in which the wines were fermented, was imported from Bosnia.
Currently, there are close to 1350 hectares of vineyards under the control of Undurraga. These are spread across the premium wine-producing areas of Chile such as Maipo Valley, Colchagua Valley, Almahue Valley, Leyda Valley and Maule Valley. The soil and terroir qualities in each of these valleys are completely diverse from one another.

Once de-stemmed the grapes were carefully crushed.Fermentation: The process took place in stainless steel vats, at temperatures ranging between 28º and 30º C. for a 7-day period. It was then left to macerate for five additional days, in order to extract its fruity features.
