The Hesketh Art Series wines represent the best of our home state, South Australia – one of the most celebrated and diverse growing regions in the world.
Grapes for these wines are grown only in the premium sub regions of Limestone Coast which are best suited to each wine style. The wines are then blended before bottling to a fresh, fruit driven style which is perfect for everyday drinking – or more salubrious occasions.
Fruit for the Unfinished Business Pinot Noir is sourced from a selection of premium cool climate vineyards within the renowned Limestone Coast region.
The grapes for the Unfinished Business were picked early to keep the alcohol low and avoid jammy fruit characters, it was then cold soaked for 5 days to maximise colour extraction. The blend was fermented at warmer temperatures to maximise fruit flavours and minimise reductive characters. Malolactic fermentation was undertaken in stainless steel before the wine was barrelled down to old French oak for approximately 6 months prior to bottling.
Colour: Bright crimson with red hues.
Varieties: 100% Pinot Noir.
Region: South Australia
Aroma: An aromatic nose of bright fruits, cherries and strawberry. Hints of vanilla, cinnamon and a slight earthiness.
Palate: Vibrant ripe cherry fruit characters balanced by a good acid structure. Subtle savoury notes of spice and again some hints of vanilla. Fine grained tannins provide a smooth finish.
Food Pairing: Crispy duck with sour cherries.
