minutesThis sake cocktail is a stunning way to use this Japanese rice liquor! Mix it up into a classic Southside with lemon, lime and mint.
INGREDIENTS
6 mint leaves
3 ounces (6 tablespoons) sakeÂ
½ ounce (1 tablespoon) lime juice
½ ounce (1 tablespoon) lemon juice
- For the simple syrup:
Caster Sugar
Water
- For the garnish:
Lemon twist
Mint leaves
Plums – optional
Directions
- Add caster sugar and water into a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Once cool, pour into a container.
- Add the mint leaves to a cocktail shaker and muddle them.
- Add the sake, lemon juice, lime juice and 1 tablespoon of simple syrup to the cocktail shaker. Fill it with ice and shake until cold.
- Strain the drink into chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with an additional mint leaf (smack it between your hands to release the oils) a lemon twist and plum if desired.
