Kombucha, our daily bread?

I have been delivering Kombucha for a while, thinking it was an alcoholic drink until I got to this client who thought she had ordered one type of Kombucha drink and obtained a different flavor. Upon checking it, I found out that it’s actually TEA! Fermented tea – tea leaves, sugar, and culture called SCOBY –a symbiotic colony of bacteria and yeast.

It’s fascinating how you can coexist with something that has been around for thousands of years and not know about it. Kombucha is thought to originate in East Asia. Not only does it have the same health benefits as tea — but it’s also rich in beneficial probiotics. Kombucha also contains antioxidants, can kill harmful bacteria, and may help fight several diseases. Those are incredible health benefits in my book.

It is naturally vegan and gluten-free, filled with probiotic bacteria that are touted for their ability to improve digestion, reduce inflammation and promote weight loss. Kombucha is also very high in antioxidants which are helpful when protecting the liver from toxicity, fighting free radicals, and repairing damaged cells. It has antibacterial properties that have been shown to help boost our immune systems and overall health. Plentiful and undeniable advantages.
