From working as a gardener in Riebeek-Kasteel to becoming the seventh SASA certified sommelier in South Africa, Joseph Dafana has been lauded for his humility and for sharing his exceptional knowledge of wine with pure grace and professionalism. He is also the former head sommelier at La Colombe, and Captain of Team Zimbabwe which competed at the world blind wine tasting championships in Burgundy in 2017.
Mosi Wines & Spirits are named after the mighty Victoria-Falls and its model is to concentrate on sourcing the best fruits from only healthy vineyards to produce excellent quality wines. The wines and spirits are named after family members as this is a family-owned business.
Grapes were sourced from a 38-year-old bush vine block. Hand harvested and vinified with minimum intervention. The wine was matured in a 2nd fill French oak barrel for 10 months, bottled and left in the bottle for 3 months before being released.
