Perdeberg Soft Smooth White Wine, 2020

Perdeberg is better known as the Home of Chenin Blanc due to the multiple expressions of this significant cultivar in our wine ranges. A true South African drawcard, the Chenin Blanc grape does exceptionally well in the dry land environment. Perdeberg’s award-winning record over the years underscores our Chenin Blanc’s quality and excellence.

The Winemaking

The grapes were harvested in mid-February at a minimum of 23° Balling in the early morning when it is still cool. After the grapes are de-stemmed, skin contact is given for two hours and the juice is extracted. Only free-run juice is used and great care is taken that the juice is clear before fermentation starts to ensure the pure, concentrated fruitiness grapes are infused into the wines.

A blend that offers a perfect harmony of flavours with fragrantly fresh notes of ripe tropical fruit. Refreshing tastes of white pear, peach and guava followed with a smooth palate that complements all social occasions.
