The Candle House was started in 1996 on the shores of Lake Baringo. For many years we had been buying honey from the local Pokot tribe which we cleaned and bottled to sell.
As a result, we were left with large amounts of beeswax so we decided to make candles. After quite a lot of experimenting, The Candle House was born!
Our candles are handmade using the highest quality ingredients. Made with beeswax, they have long burning times and a natural aroma. As with all handmade products the candles may have minor imperfections which in no way affect the performance of the candles.
Our extensive range of sizes and forms will allow you to choose a candle for every occasion. Vary the mood with a heavenly scent. Our candles come in a range of fragrances, adding an extra touch of luxury and creating a sensuous atmosphere.
Our products have been inspired by the African landscapes surrounding us and the rising need for conservation. The Candle House is committed to environmental solutions and we endeavour to use natural ingredients in all our products.
We support the livelihoods of rural beekeepers by buying raw beeswax. We also do our best to benefit our local community by providing job opportunities. There is little waste from the candle-making process and any excess wax is combined with wood shavings to make cost-effective and efficient firelighters.
