Buffel Foods Kienyeji (local) chickens are exclusively of the kienyeji breed, raised in a free-range environment where they have access to natural pastures and forage for garden worms on the farm in Kilimambogo. In addition to their natural diet, they are supplemented with maize, soy cake, and bran feeds, all prepared on-site. These feeds are sourced from organic farms, ensuring traceability and quality. Their commitment to providing fresh, tender, and lean meats means their animals are allowed to roam freely and fed hormone-free feeds, offering a natural and wholesome food option.
Start by thoroughly cleaning the chicken and removing any excess fat. For a flavorful and tender result, marinate the chicken with your favorite spices and herbs, allowing it to infuse for at least an hour or overnight in the refrigerator. When ready to cook, heat a skillet or grill to medium-high heat. Place the chicken pieces on the grill or in the skillet and cook until golden brown and cooked through, turning occasionally to ensure even cooking. Due to the amount of exercise that they get, kienyeji chicken requires a longer boiling time compared to broilers, but the end result is the tastiest chicken stew (they are best stewed), with earthy flavours that your taste buds will ever have the pleasure of enjoying!
