Potato Print Wrapping Paper
Potato Print Wrapping Paper
Course: Recipes, Christmas, KidsPotato printing wrapping paper is a brilliant eco-friendly way to home make your own Christmas paper this year! Involve the children for a really fun activity together.
MATERIALS
A few big potatoes (we find that two per child is a good start!)
A roll of brown paper
Paint – we use acrylic paints
Directions
- Using a small, sharp knife, cut out the shape you’d like on your potato.
- Alternatively, if you have sharp cookie cutters, try this method. Cut the potato in half length ways.
Then take your Christmas cookie cutter and press into the flat side of the potato. Push all the way through (you may need a little knife to help with the last bit) and then use that as your printing block. - For inspo, start with a star, a Christmas tree, or an angel. Move to more complex designs as you build your experience!! Place the paint in a flat-ish container.
Dip the potato into the paint tray, and then press it onto the brown paper. Continue until you have enough, and then allow to dry.
