INGREDIENTS

  • 4 cups water

  • 4 cups whole milk

  • 1 vanilla pod or extract

  • 20 whole black peppercorns

  • 10 cardamom pods

  • 10 pieces cloves

  • 2- 4 cinnamon sticks

  • 2-inch fresh ginger

  • 2 tbsp jaggery

  • 2 tbsp black tea

  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder

Directions

  • Boil water in a cooking pan on medium heat. In a mortar or grinder, coarsely crushed
    whole pepper, cardamom, and cloves, set aside.
  • Grate ginger and set aside, then break the cinnamon bark into chunks. Add all the
    spices to the boiling water and let boil for 8 to 10 minutes on a medium flame.
  • Add in black tea leaves. Boil for 2 to 3 minutes until the tea has fully brewed.
  • In another pan bring the milk to a boil then turn off the heat and add in vanilla and
    jaggery. Whisk until sugar dissolves then froth the milk with a frother or immersion
    blender.
  • Strain the tea into your favourite mug then pour over the hot frothy milk and sprinkle
    a pinch of cinnamon powder.
