A new era in fish farming: using CleanTreat® for eco-friendly aquaculture

CleanTreat has been successfully deployed in Norway during large-scale clinical studies, purifying over 400,000m3 of water from over 21 farms. That’s why they use CleanTreat® during the treatment process to ensure the safety of their fish and the surrounding environment. This system is a game-changer for the aquaculture industry, allowing for the introduction of new and effective medicines in an environmentally sustainable manner.
Here’s how it works: the fish are treated with medicine in a wellboat. Once the treatment is completed and the fish are free of sea lice, they are rinsed and released back into their ocean pens. The treatment water, which is retained in the closed-system tank, is then transferred onto Benchmark’s CleanTreat® vessel. The process then begins to remove the medicine for safe release back into the ocean. The whole process is continuously monitored, and purification is confirmed by the onboard chemist working in a laboratory on the CleanTreat® vessel.
