900g chicken wings
120g honey
60ml teriyaki sauce
30ml vegetable oil
1 teaspoon chili powder
3 cloves crushed garlic
1 red onion, diced
2 tbsp coriander, chopped
5g ground ginger
30ml soy sauce
Salt and black pepper to taste
1 teaspoon dried oregano
Chili flakes (optional)
Directions
- In a large bowl, combine honey, teriyaki sauce, vegetable oil, chili powder, crushed garlic, diced red onion, chopped coriander, ground ginger, soy sauce, salt, black pepper, dried oregano, and chili flakes (if using). Mix well to create the marinade.
- Add the chicken wings to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight for better flavor absorption.
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Place the marinated chicken wings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the wings are golden brown and cooked through, turning them halfway through the cooking time.
- While the wings are baking, you can heat the remaining marinade in a saucepan over medium heat until it thickens slightly. Use this as a glaze for the wings.
- Once the wings are done, brush them with the honey teriyaki glaze before serving.
