Ingredients

  • 1 cup roasted hazelnuts

  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder

  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract or paste

  • A pinch of salt

Directions

  • In a food processor or blender, blend the roasted hazelnuts until they turn into a smooth paste.
  • Add cocoa powder, maple syrup (or agave nectar), vanilla extract, and salt to the hazelnut paste.
  • Blend again until all the ingredients are well combined and the spread is smooth.
  • Taste and adjust the sweetness if desired by adding more maple syrup or agave nectar.
  • Transfer the hazelnut spread to a jar and store it in the refrigerator. It will thicken as it cools. Spread it on toast, pancakes, or waffles, or use it as a dip for fruits.
