O’BAO skincare is centred around the unique properties of the Baobab tree. Their organic certified Baobab raw materials are high in antioxidants, potassium, and magnesium. They are also rich in linoleic acid, vitamins A, B and C, and Omega fatty acids 3, 6 and 9. Depending on which part of the Baobab fruit is used, the raw material has amazing skin calming, skin soothing, moisturizing, or exfoliating powers. O’BAO is harnessing these special properties and incorporates them together with other powerful plant-based ingredients in thoughtfully crafted formulations using green manufacturing practices.

O’BAO is a brand of Elekea Ltd and has been on the market since 2015 but was relaunched with improved packaging, brand design and formulations in December 2021. O’BAO is proudly produced in Kenya and has established their own Baobab supply-chain from farm to shelf. This allows for a sustainable expansion of the harvest and fair income for the farmers. O’BAO strives to source their ingredients from within Africa, trying to stick to local Kenyan suppliers as much as possible. Assisting local farmers through training and support, O’BAO seeks to boost the local economy and to create transparency in sourcing and tracing the ingredients. As a Kenyan brand, O’BAO understands the importance of giving back to local communities as much as the need to protect the beautiful Kenyan environment. Baobab is the ultimate zero-waste fruit that grows naturally in arid and semi-arid areas in Kenya, giving micro-farmers an income opportunity in economically challenged regions while simultaneously providing an incentive to protect and sustain the trees.
