We’re proud to be working with Ann and Daniel, owners of Tsalach Turkeys. Daniel is a vet, who worked for many years with Charles Nightingale, and is deeply committed to raising the turkeys in a happy environment with no requirements for medicines. He’s passionate about keeping animals, and the turkeys are a new project for him and his wife Ann. Daniel checks on the turkeys every day, ensuring they are all in good condition and have enough space to move around. Generally, turkeys are quite susceptible to diseases, so they are kept in clean conditions, and in a large pen. They are, to this end, free-range, but not pasture-raised. 

Ann manages the business side of this venture and together the pair make a fantastic team. 

The turkeys are raised on a small farm just outside Gilgil, where there is ample space, shade and water. Ann and Daniel have erected a purpose-built building to slaughter and butcher the turkeys in pristine conditions. The turkeys meanwhile live in their spacious pen with plenty of fresh air, and space to run around in. They are fed with specifically formulated turkey feed from Unga, and supplemented with greens whenever possible.
